Hurricane Season

West Elm has these wonderful hurricanes that keep catching my eye! These would look great on any coffee table. I think I have to put them into the "must have" category.
I also love how they show them being used as a vase. So versatile!

Pottery Barn Fall Line

I was invited on Saturday to preview the new fall line at Pottery Barn. They have their new 'Vintage Style' that resonates a comfortable Napa Valley look. Everything is rustic with some actual imported French country antiques among their accessories.

Here is a sampling of my favorites:
I would love to have a drafting table like this, even though I do most of my drafting on the computer. It's great to have the space to layout a project.
I loved these burlap pillows that every coffee lover should have
I thought these were a good deal at 6 for $99
This is a gorgeous rustic peice that i woudl love to take home!
I love that this bench can be used as an coffee table too!

Benched

Looking through Gump's fall collection and furniture sale they have going on right now, I was really drawn to their benches. They have such charm! They would make a great statement in any entry.
This next one is more of a sofa or setee but I still love it!

The Rug Company

This company supplying handmade rugs is based in England but has expanded internationally since their naissance in 1997. They have an incredible variety of rugs fashioned by many talented designers. This Peacock Light designed by Matthew Williamson caught my eye as it was featured in Interior Design Magazine. It is made from Tibetan wool and silk and is sure to be soft underfoot and last a lifetime and worth the investment. It's like a work of art on your floor!Find more beautiful rug creations on the website.

Light The Way

Rumors have been surfacing about the possibility of incandescent lights (i.e. your average light bulb) become illegal to use in the future due to their energy inefficiency. This is a major concern to anyone working with interiors since the type and source of lighting can greatly affect colors. Here is an article from Sherwin Williams' STIR magazine that helps diffuse some of the confusion on this topic.

Experienced Materials

I discovered a fun and green company called Experienced Materials. Portland, Oregon artist Gina Nash creates light fixtures and sculptures from recycled steel. These very beautiful peices are worth noticing!

More Books!

So I had to go to Borders last week to get a few books and walked out with a little more than I intended but all at great deals, of course. Here are the latest additions to the library:

This kitchen book is FABULOUS!
