A Place For Every Shoe

I was flipping through the Ballard Designs catalog that arrived in my mailbox today and fell in love with this shoe storage that accommodates for purses and boots too!
I definitely would love this for my own, if I had a place to put my shoes on display - like a giant walk in closet or dressing room.  I love the little chandelier in front of it too!
Thank you Ballard for inspiration today!

Forever Green

I love it when just the thing I'm looking for lands in my inbox.  This happened a few weeks ago for one of my projects.  I  think I will be using for many of my future clients.  The company is Forever Green Art, which offers preserved plants as a great alternative to silk or other "faux" plant options.
My current project is needing a large topiary and my client really disliked the "fakeness" of ones she had seen.  This triple ball comes in a variety of heights (we chose the 50") and a variety of urns and pots are also available.

The topiaries from Forever Green Art are actual junipers that have been grown and shaped to the desired look and then preserved.  They can last 7+ years and are a great alternative for homeowners who want real plants but don't quite have green thumbs.

Besides topiaries, Forever Green Art's products include Palms, Bonsai, Eucalyptus, moss and floral arrangements.

Such a great find!

Giveaway and A New Look

I thought it was time to update my header on my blog to spruce things up a bit.  You like?

To celebrate this fresh new look I have decided to do a giveaway!

Today I'm reaching into "The Designer's Attic" as I like to call it to find my prize to give away.  On occasion I will order some extra accessories from my vendors to meet a minimum, or for a potential client, but they don't end up getting used so they put into "The Designer's Attic".

Well, today I have pulled out this lovely 100% cotton tan and aqua throw from Surya:

I'm making it super simple to enter to win:
Leave a comment with your name and email and you will be entered to win!  This is not limited to the US so international readers, comment away!  You have until Thursday June 16th to enter.  The winner will be selected using random.org and will be announced next Friday, June 17th.  Good luck!

I was recently approached by a company called Chilewich because they have just launched their site for interior designers.  They offer top of table accessories, some shades, flooring and even handbags.  They all have wonderful natural texture and color options.  Take a look:

I also thought it was fun that they provide pet placemats and iphone cases!  This would make any pet area look sophisticated and chic. I'll have to consider the gray, of course.  That even looks a little like my cat!

Once I upgrade to the iphone 4 from 3GS I'll be tempted to get these very "designer" looking cases.  And maybe a matching bag to put it in, oh my!

See more of Chilewich's fun products here.
