So Thankful

I have just finished making, alongside my mom, and consuming a large Thanksgiving feast while my family and I enjoy a little relaxation on the Oregon Coast. I am so thankful for my family and friends and moments like these. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

A Trip To Tahoe

I was able to get away this last week with my husband to celebrate our 5 year anniversary.  We never expected to have to put on chains to go over the pass in the middle of May, but once we arrived it was a beautiful sight.  Everything was lightly dusted in powdery snow. 

 The snow melted away as the sun came out over the next few days in time for us to rent some bikes to ride around part of the lake.  There were some breathtaking views! 

It was a perfect retreat in the middle of a busy month and now it's back to work.  I have a presentation this weekend, so you may be getting a sneak peak of that soon.

Cyber Monday

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! As per usual, I went up to my family's beach house in Oregon.  This time we had a nice surprise of snow one day!  Not enough to stick but it was fun to watch the flurries come off the ocean.  (You can rent out our beach house, if you are interested.  More info here)

Today is Cyber Monday.  A few ours left to save!  I always forget about it until emails start arriving in my inbox.  I still prefer Black Friday since on Cyber Monday I'm still trying to catch up from being out of town.

I can't believe we are nearly at December!  I have a busy month ahead as I finish up a few project and have picked up a few more!  Looking forward to sharing my design adventures with you.


P.S. If anyone is keeping track, I did decide to go with the green plaid bedding from West Elm.  I finally picked it up and am just now putting it on the bed.  Pictures to come!

Out Of This World

My recent trip to San Diego was a little more than vacation.  My husband and I were there attending Comic-Con for our first time, which is, as the city of San Diego so eloquently put it, the celebration of popular arts. 

This convention was unlike any other I have attended.  It was normal to be in costume, representing your favorite sci-fi or fantasy character or your own creation. 

Amidst the numerous panels of actors, tv and movie promotions, comic book vendors and video game promoters we managed to fins a place outside the convention center to eat. 

We pushed our way through the crowds of zombies dragging down the streets in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter to the Hard Rock Hotel where Syfy tv channel had leased a cafe space, renovating inside and out to resemble the Cafe Diem from their show Eureka. 

We got a prime seat outside where we could people watch to our hearts content as we ordered more food than we could eat.  It was quite the entertaining crowd and as the sun went down, the usual Saturday nightlife showed up looking oddly out of place in their hip clothes and normal hairstyles. 

We had so much fun at the convention, we may even go again, and this time I'll bring a better camera to capture all those kooky costumes and celebrities.

Vacation!

As you may have noticed, I have been absent for over a week.  I was enjoying a beautiful vacation in Pam Springs and San Diego.

No, I didn't stay at the beautiful Hotel Del Coronado, but I did spend an afternoon lounging on its sun deck soaking in the sun, the ocean and the beautiful architecture of this historic hotel.
I find it difficult to hit the ground running again after such a wonderful absence but I assure you I have a few posts to come, highlighting some of my favorites from my trip south.

Gone away...

I've gone to the beach for a week so you may not hear much for me for a bit as I'm trying to keep technology to a minimum while on vacation. Look for design updates when I return! Have a great one!
